Heathland Challenge HIO Pairs – Sherwood Forest and Coxmoor Golf Clubs

Welcome to our second Heathland Challenge HIO Pairs which will take place over two of finest Heathland golf courses in the UK. Sherwood Forest is ranked as one of the finest inland courses in the UK and a Top 100 Golf Course and Coxmoor Golf Club an England Golf Championship venue and host to Regional Open Qualifying making it two days of Heathland Heaven.

The event is open to all Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Pairs

* To participate in any HIO Pairs Event all players must have a WHS Congu Handicap or iGolf Handicap. Please Note: You do not have to have scored a Hole in One to enter our pairs events*

Our 2025 Heathland Pairs Champions will qualify to play in the National Pairs Playoff Finals for an all expenses trip to the HIO-Club 2026 Grand Final at TPC Sawgrass.

The Hole In One Club are delighted to announce this must play pairs event, with 1 x Round over Sherwood Forest Golf Club and 1 x Round over Coxmoor Golf Club.

Our 2025 event has a number of exciting features. The package includes:

2 x Tournament Days played over Sherwood Forest and Coxmoor Golf Clubs.
Leading pair over the 36 holes will qualify or the National HIO Pairs Playoff Finals to play for a trip to TPC Sawgrass.
Please Note: If the event has over 6 x Mixed/Women’s Pairs we will offer a separate qualification section.

The Golf Courses

Sherwood Forest Golf Club
Ranked 93rd in the British isles, and 43rd in England, the quality of this course speaks for itself. Playing deep into the country, alongside pines, silver birch and oak trees, these symbolise the true beauty of where the course is situated. The cunning, creative Championship course has hosted a range of national events, including the ‘British and England Seniors’, and the regional qualifying for the ‘Open Championship’.

Coxmoor Golf Club
Coxmoor Golf Club is perched on the of the highest points in Nottinghamshire, adjacent to Forestry Commission land close to the town of Sutton in Ashfield, providing panoramic views across the surrounding rolling countryside.

Established in 1913 Coxmoor has played host to regional Open Championship Qualifying, British Seniors Amateur Open Championship and British Boys Championships, evidencing the quality of the layout.

The layout provides an interesting round for the visiting golfer, is well maintained and is sure to improve in the future as Ken Brown is involved in providing advice on architectural changes to the layout, a fantastic venue to crown our 2025 Heathland Pairs Champions.

Teams of 2 Amateurs
54 Hole Tournament Pairs Betterball Stableford
Max playing handicap index 24 for Men 36 for Women.
85% Handicap Allowance
All players must have an active WHS Handicap
The event is open to Men’s, Ladies and Mixed Pairs over the age of 18 years and above

Please read the following booking conditions carefully, they form the basis of your contract with HIO Events Limited and set out our respective rights and obligations.

All hotel and room upgrades are subject to availability at the time of booking.

A £200.00 deposit per amateur player will secure your team place in to the event with a further the final balance due on or before the 1st June 2025.

Upon receipt of entry a written confirmation will be issued.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you comply with all insurance requirements. It is your responsibility to check current regulations and if our company incurs fines or surcharges as a result of your negligence you will be responsible for reimbursing us accordingly.

We accept responsibility for all parts of the event as described in our literature and agree to supply such to a reasonable standard. We accept responsibility for the acts and omissions of our employees, agents, suppliers and sub-contractors (providing at the time they were carrying out work authorized by us). Except where loss and or damage to luggage or personal possessions are concerned, we highly recommend that personal travel insurance is obtained prior to the event to cover such damage. We cannot be held responsible for the condition of golf courses because of maintenance or climate, we will try to keep clients informed of the up-to-date conditions.

In the unlikely event of a complaint please notify us immediately, most issues are easily resolved whilst you are on an event. If the matter is not solved to your satisfaction then please write to HIO Events within 28 days of your return, we will not accept liability after this time.

You may cancel at any time but the instructions will only be valid if we are notified in writing.
