Carnoustie HIO Pairs 2025 – Championship and Burnside Courses

2025 will see our second visit to the world famous Carnoustie Resort. Our package offers the opportunity to play two of the resorts world famous courses.

The event will be played over the Championship Course, Voted the World’s Best Golf Course in 2019, venue for eight Open Championships and two Women’s Opens and is one of three courses used for the annual Dunhill Links.

The Burnside Course will host our second round a hidden gem course that oozes character. Favourite of the locals and a true test of golf. Host to Open Qualifying it was on this course in 1953 where the iconic Ben Hogan shot 70 to qualify for The Open Championship which he famously subsequently won.

* To participate in any HIO Pairs Event all players must have a WHS Congu Handicap.
Please Note: You do not have to have scored a Hole in One to enter our pairs events*

Our winning pair over 36 holes will qualify to play in the National Pairs Playoff Finals for an all expenses trip to the HIO-Club 2026 Grand Final to TPC Sawgrass.

The Hole In One Club are delighted to announce this must play event, a 36 Hole Pairs Event with 1 Round over the Championship Course and 1 Round over the Burnside Course.

Carnoustie Golf Courses

Championship Course
There are many who believe that the Championship Course at Carnoustie is the finest test of championship golf to be found anywhere in the world.
This bucket list venue, also known as the toughest venue on The Open rota, is a course that challenges each person who visits and is rightly known as Golf’s Greatest Test. It will make you think on every shot, there’s no escaping the course once you’ve started, one of the beauties of Carnoustie is the way in which it grabs hold of you, immerses you in the landscape and takes you on a journey. That deep breath that’s taken on the first just before teeing off is only exhaled on stepping off at the 18th .

Burnside Course
The Burnside course is a stern test that oozes character and is a splendid test of golf. Many of the short holes are worthy of gracing some of the top links courses around, with the 5th and 14th in particular providing dramatic challenges for the player who strives to gain his par 3. As its name suggests, the course winds over and around the Barry Burn, and is protected not only by that feature, but also by the small greens and narrow fairways which are bordered by heather and rough whins. The bunkering is minimalist, but all are well placed to influence the golfer’s strategy – a trademark of all three Carnoustie layouts.

Carnoustie Hotel & Spa
Carnoustie Golf Hotel offers extensive facilities, including 96 x en suite bedrooms including ten suites with amazing views over the Championship course, the sea, and the local town of Carnoustie.

Extensive spa and health facilities include a large heated swimming pool, sauna, whirlpool, steam room, and for the more energetic, a fully equipped gymnasium.

While staying at the Hotel, you can follow in the footsteps of some of history’s greatest golfers and test yourself to a challenging round on the notably inspiring Carnoustie Championship golf course.

The Carnoustie Hotel’s dining experience is also not to be missed. Calders Bistro offers delicious fare, much of it from local Scottish produce.

All Players must have an active WHS Handicap or iGolf Handicap
The Event is open to all Men, Women and Mixed Pairs over the age of 18 years and above
Prizes – 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prizes over the 36 hole tournament
Daily Spot Prizes for leading 2nd Round score
Leading 36 hole pair will qualify for the Sawgrass Playoff Finals
Tees of Day will be confirmed by the Tournament Controller

Booking Conditions

Please read the following booking conditions carefully, they form the basis of your contract with HIO Events Limited 2023 and set out our respective rights and obligations.

A £100.00 per person deposit payment is required to secure a place into the event. Refunds will be offered if you need to cancel before this stipulated cancellation date (1st November 2024)  The Hole In One Club will refund all monies if the event is unable to go ahead. If the format of the event has to be changed you will have the option of continuing with your booking

Upon receipt of entry and deposit a written confirmation will be issued.

We accept responsibility for all parts of the event as described in our literature and agree to supply such to a reasonable standard. We accept responsibility for the acts and omissions of our employees, agents, suppliers and sub-contractors (providing at the time they were carrying out work authorized by us). Except where loss and or damage to luggage or personal possessions are concerned, we highly recommend that personal golf/travel insurance is obtained prior to the event to cover such damage. We cannot be held responsible for the condition of golf courses because of maintenance or climate, we will try to keep clients informed of the up-to-date conditions.

In the unlikely event of a complaint please notify us immediately, most issues are easily resolved whilst you are on an event. If the matter is not solved to your satisfaction then please write to HIO Events within 28 days of your return, we will not accept liability after this time.

You may cancel at any time but the instructions will only be valid if we are notified in writing.
