We are thrilled to welcome all pairs to the 3rd Hadrian’s Wall HIO Pairs in 2025!

This year, our event offers an exciting new experience with the opportunity to play and stay at the prestigious Close House Resort, renowned as the host of multiple DP World and Asian Tour events and home to the legendary Tour player Lee Westwood.

The first round will take place at one of the North East’s finest courses, Matfen Hall Golf Resort, adding an extra touch of charm to this incredible event.

Participants will also have the chance to explore the iconic World Heritage Site of Hadrian’s Wall, which stretches 73 miles from coast to coast. Why not make the most of your visit by walking part of the wall either before or after the tournament? A perfect blend of history, scenery, and world-class golf awaits!

All HIO-Club events are open to golfers of all ages, both male+female and you don't need to have scored a Hole in 1 to participate in our events :)

The winning pair will qualify to play in the National Pairs Playoff Finals for an all expenses trip to the HIO-Club 2026 Grand Final toTPC Sawgrass.

Close House (Colt Course)

The Lee Westwood Colt Course is 7,000 yards in length from the championship tees, having already held two European Tour events and one Asian Tour event, the course has proved to be both enjoyable and challenging for golfers of all abilities. Gaining a place in the UK’s top 100 golf courses, the Lee Westwood Colt Course provides one of the most varied challenges on the golfing map, so much so that it is recognised for being the home of championship golf in the North East.

Matfen Hall

Located near to Hadrian’s Wall in West Northumberland, Matfen Hall Hotel is set in 300 acres of beautiful parkland. The 19th Century Gothic style Stately home is a grand building overlooking the golf course. The golf course offers and challenging and wonderful golfing experience for all levels of players, in addition to the championship course, the resort offers an additional 9 holes and 9 hole Par-3 course and a fitting finale to our Hadrian’s Wall HIO Pairs Tournament

Courtyard Bedrooms

The 17 Courtyard bedrooms offer the highest quality accommodation. Each one is decorated and furnished to the highest standard The Courtyard at Close House is the perfect base for you to relax and enjoy a night in one our sumptuous rooms and dinner at Close House’s No 19 Bar and Restaurant. Indulge yourself in the luxury that we have to offer in the Courtyard at Close House. All of the bedrooms have been named after the golf course architect Harry Colt.
