We are excited to return to the legendary Carnoustie Resort for the second time. Our exclusive package includes the chance to play two of the resort’s iconic courses, offering an unforgettable golfing experience.

The event kicks off on the Burnside Course, a hidden gem brimming with charm and character. A favourite among locals, this course is both a true test of skill and a historical treasure. It was here, during Open Qualifying in 1953, that the legendary Ben Hogan famously shot a 70 to secure his place in the Open Championship, which he went on to win.

Our second round takes place on the Championship Cours, celebrated as the World’s Best Golf Course in 2019. This renowned venue has hosted eight Open Championships, two Women’s Opens, and is a key part of the annual Dunhill Links. With its rich history and unparalleled challenge, it promises an exceptional round for all participants.

All HIO-Club events are open to golfers of all ages, both male+female and you don't need to have scored a Hole in 1 to participate in our events :)

Qualifiers are open to all Men, Women and Mixed Pairs over the age of
18 years and above.

The winning pair will qualify to play in the National Pairs Playoff Finals for an all expenses trip to the HIO-Club 2026 Grand Final to TPC Sawgrass.

Championship Course

There are many who believe that the Championship Course at Carnoustie is the finest test of championship golf to be found anywhere in the world. This bucket list venue, also known as the toughest venue on The Open rota, is a course that challenges each person who visits and is rightly known as Golf’s Greatest Test. It will make you think on every shot, there’s no escaping the course once you’ve started, one of the beauties of Carnoustie is the way in which it grabs hold of you, immerses you in the landscape and takes you on a journey. That deep breath that’s taken on the first just before teeing off is only exhaled on stepping off at the 18th .

Burnside Course

The Burnside course is a stern test that oozes character and is a splendid test of golf. Many of the short holes are worthy of gracing some of the top links courses around, with the 5th and 14th in particular providing dramatic challenges for the player who strives to gain his par 3. As its name suggests, the course winds over and around the Barry Burn, and is protected not only by that feature, but also by the small greens and narrow fairways which are bordered by heather and rough whins. The bunkering is minimalist, but all are well placed to influence the golfer’s strategy – a trademark of all three Carnoustie layouts.

Carnoustie Hotel & Spa

Carnoustie Golf Hotel offers extensive facilities, including 96 x en suite bedrooms including ten suites with amazing views over the Championship course, the sea, and the local town of Carnoustie. Extensive spa and health facilities include a large heated swimming pool, sauna, whirlpool, steam room, and for the more energetic, a fully equipped gymnasium. While staying at the Hotel, you can follow in the footsteps of some of history’s greatest golfers and test yourself to a challenging round on the notably inspiring Carnoustie Championship golf course. The Carnoustie Hotel’s dining experience is also not to be missed. Calders Bistro offers delicious fare, much of it from local Scottish produce.
